What We Do?

Rotogravure Printing Process

Rotogravure printing is the system of printing based on the transfer of fluid ink from depressions in a printing plate to the paper. It is an intaglio process, as the design is etched or engraved below the surface of the printing plate. At the beginning of the gravure printing process, the engraved cylinder is partially immersed in the ink tray, filling the recessed cells with ink. The excess ink from the non-printing (non-recessed) areas are wiped clean. The ink in the recessed cells gets transferred to the substrate by pressing the paper against the inked plate. Gravure printing is usually a reel-fed printing method, although sheet-fed machines exist in small numbers.
